In October 2008 the company bought the right to lease the island of Koh Tang for 99 years, with the right to sublease the land and ownership of buildings and structures on the island. Our representatives live in Cambodia permanently, and employees, including CEO of the Company are located in Cambodia since 2008. The analysis of political and economic situation in the country showes that the main strategic partner of Cambodia in all fields, including military, is China. Today there are 5 free economic zones, directly under the Chinese investors. In March 2009, in Sihanoukville (which is the residence of the King and the Monarch office) one more free economic zone was created for Japanese investors, who pledged to build a 90-megawatt power plant, a part of the road and invest several billion dollars in infrastructure development in Cambodia.

Investment climate, geographical location, soft law with clear criteria, recently brought Cambodia into a number of countries, the most attractive to large investors. At the same time, features of national mentality, overly bureaucratic state apparatus, created certain difficulties and entail additional costs for many companies, choosing to gain a foothold in Cambodia. Company Monarch has been spent a lot of effort over many years to overcome these barriers.
